Scaloni announces 30-man Argentina squad for WCQs in September, Paulo Dybala returns

Lionel Scaloni has announced the Argentina squad for the 3 World cup qualifiers in September. Argentina are scheduled to play against Venezuela on September 2, Brazil on September 5 and Bolivia on September 9.

Paulo Dybala, Emiliano Buendia, Juan Foyth, Geronimo Rulli are among the notable returns to the squad. Sergio Aguero will out for few months and unfoetunately Mauro Icardi misses out due to injury otherwise would have made the squad. Lucas Alario is still not fully fit yet. The injuries opened up opportunities for Dybala and Buendia. Leo Messi is yet to play a game this season for PSG but expected get gametime just before the WCQs.

Despite some injury blows, Scaloni has assembled a pretty strong squad, looks better than even the Copa squad. Now that Copa America is over Scaloni would look to build team for the World cup next year.

There is room for changes in place of Nico Gonzalez and Nicolas Otamendi, one being wasteful and another being aged plus beyond his prime for upcoming World cup. The squad has plenty of options in terms of attack, opportunity for the likes of Paulo Dybala, Angel Correa and Emi Buendia to grab a regular spot. As for, Otamendi there is still no proper back up in the squad yet. Foyth is an option but Scaloni has often looked him as a full back. The best possible option to partner Criatian Romero is Lisandro Martinez and the pair should work as both being solid centre backs. The current squad looks a proper one.
